Tumi (Editorial) Ltd is the publishing wing of Tumi (Music) Ltd, with our registered office in Bath, UK.

Tumi (Editorial) Ltd specialises in publishing Cuban, Peruvian, Bolivian and other Latin American music, looking after writers such as Candido Fabre, Felix Baloy, Yusa, David Alvarez, Papa Noel and many more.

What makes Tumi (Editorial) Ltd stand out from other publishing companies is that most of the titles are active at any given time either through Tumi Music or others who license tracks from us.

The publishing wing for film and media is currently managed by Music Sales (UK) Ltd, from their offices in London. Music Sales' latest release is the CD entitled 'Cuba', which shows the versatility of our rich catalogue.

Rich and rhythmic, sparkling and seductive... this compilation brings you some of the best arrangements of Afro-Cuban melodies.

1 Limpia Mi Son - Papa Noel and Papi Oviedo 3:27 (Garcia) Genre: Congo/Cuban Son Legendary Congolese guitarist Papa Noel, the great Cuban tres player Papi Oviedo (currently touring with the Buena Vista Social Club) and the remarkable vocal talents of Cristina Azcuy Garcia come together to create a wonderfully rhythmic, irresistible and mouth-watering dish (best served hot!)
2 Cada Vez Que Te Veo - Afro-Cuban Allstars with Felix Baloy 3:38 (Gonzalez) Genre: Son Written by Juan de Marcos Gonzalez, the father of the Buena Vista Social Club. Here Gonzalez's band, the Afro-Cuban All Stars, appears with Felix Baloy, one of the great Cuban soneros.
3 Encuentro Entre Soneros - Gloria Matancera 4:01(Kindelan) Genre: Traditional Son Gloria Matancera was founded in 1927 but still sounds as fresh today as it did 70 years ago. The band played a pivotal part in the history of Cuban son.
4 Todo O Casi Nada - Yusa 3:34 (Bridon) Genre: Acoustic Jazz/Brazilian Rock "Listening to the bitter-sweet lyrics of new Cuban singer YUSA and the simple sophistication of her music one knows one is finally hearing 21st century Cuba. Her cutting-edge songs map the contemporary emotional lives of urban Havana. Fused inside her music are traces from further afield, from iconclastic jazz and rock to today's Brazil. Full of the vital energy of experimentation and the textures of musical exchange gained in intimate venues, Yusa offers a whole new way of hearing Cuba." (Jan Fairley)
5 Cuida'o Cuida'o - David Alvarez y Juego de Manos 3:45 (Diaz) Genre: Fusion of Son, Cumbia and Caribbean rhythm The music of David Alvarez is deeply rooted in the Caribbean. Whether in cumbia, son or one of his trademark rooty fusions, Alvarez adds his unique voice to give the song that special dynamic flavour and zest.

6 De Cuba Vengo y Cubano Soy - Candido Fabre y su Banda 4:46 (Fabre) Genre: Traditional slow son, melodic tune, male backing, smooth charanga band (violins, tres, guitar etc) Candido Fabre is considered one of Cuba's greatest Cuban singers and composers. His gift for improvisation allows him to create a 'son' for any given situation or expression.

7 El Son de Baloy - Felix Baloy 4:46 (Valdes) Genre: Traditional son See Track 2

8 Esperanza - Ruben Rodriguez 4:22 (Caballero) Genre: Salsa Ruben Rodriguez is known as the new 'salsero' of Cuba. His voice is often compared with Oscar de Leon, he king of salsa.

9 Gozalo Como Yo - Clave y Guaguanco 6:33 (Hernandez) Genre: Santeria music - a form of African religious rhythm, originating in Yuruba and consisting of drumming and singing. Cuban rumba, of which this track is an example, is comprised of three different dances; Yambu, Guaguanco and Colombia. Brought to Cuba by slaves from Nigeria, Conga and other parts of Africa, it has roots in its various sects and rituals, and is associated with Santeria, a form of Afro-Catholicism.

10 M Bonge - Papa Noel and Papi Oviedo 6:22 (Montswet) Genre: Acoustic Congolese guitar accompanied by Cuban tres and soft Congolese and Cuban female chorus On the surface, the coming together of the veteran Congolese singer and guitarist Papa Noel and the great Cuban tres player Papi Oviedo may seem less than obvious. In fact, there is perfect musical logic to their collaboration. The Congolese version of rumba takes the imported Cuban rhythms but adds distinctly African idioms - elements of tribal folklore and the melodic cadences of the Limbala language - to turn it into something completely different.

11 El Montuno de Maria - Mauricio Venegas y Efrain Rios 4:22 (Venegas) Genre: Son Montuno

A collaboration between Chilean guitarist Mauricio Venegas and Cuban tres player Efrain Rios. Son Montuno is the music from the mountains of Cuba and the lyrics of the song tell the story of a peasant from the mountain who falls in love with Maria and they live happily ever after.
12 Juana La Loca - David Alvarez y Juego de Manos 3:25 (Garrido) Genre: Fusion Son/ Salsa From the new generation of Cuban musicians, an irresistible and vibrant blend of Cuba and the Caribbean.
13 En Todas las Esquinas - Yusa 1:52 (Bridon) Genre: Acoustic jazz/Rock See Track 4
14 El Beso - David Alvarez y Juego de Manos 3:25 (Rios) Genre: Merengue, a fast and happy rhythm from the Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic. See Track 5
15 Changui a la Loma del Chivo - Elio Reve y su Charangon 4:54 (Duverger) Genre: Changui; originated from the eastern parts of Cuba This is the Afro-Cuban rhythm 'Changui' with a classic but contemporary sound and heavy on brass. For the last fifty years, Orquesta Reve has been one of Cuba's best-loved and most influential bands.
16 El Rumbon del Piqueton - El Piqueton de Felix Rondon 3:32 (Palmero) Genre: Conga, basic and rootsy El Rumbon del Piqueton is some of the most tribal and rootsy music to come out of Cuba , and has been a key part of Cuban popular music for decades.
17 Pido - Danae 4:27 (Betancourt) Genre: Romantic Salsa The jazz tones of Danae offer a feisty new take on 'salsa romantica', bringing it firmly into the 21st century by adding a sophisticated view of the complexities of love.
