From the heart of the of the sugar lands of Eastern
Cuba comes this first Tumi recording from this traditional eight piece
group. They were founded as ‘Eduardo Saborit’ band in the early 80s as
homage to the late great composer of ‘Que Linda es Cuba’. Based in Manzanillo, home to many of Cuba’s finest musicians
and composers such as Candido Fabre and David Alvarez, and directed by
Eleodoro Leon, they have remained close to their country roots, using
traditional campesino instruments like laud and tres.
Their music is influenced by other Caribbean sounds like cumbia,
as well as Cuban son and guarachas.
